Y4 - Beech
Hello everyone! We're thrilled to welcome you to our Year 4 class page dedicated to Beech Class! Here, you'll find all the exciting information about what our brilliant children will be learning this year.
This year, the children will continue to develop their independence through a variety of engaging and fun learning experiences. From exploring the fascinating world of the Anglo Saxons and Vikings to delving into our local area, particularly our stunning local rivers, there's so much to look forward to!
We're also excited to understand more about the impact of King Richard III in our community. We'll even visit his very own museum to see history come to life!
Creativity will be at the heart of our learning as we hone our skills with different materials such as clay, mixed media, and paint.
Join us on this exciting journey filled with discovery, creativity, and fun! If you have any questions or would like to share your thoughts, please feel free to make contact with Mrs Smalley and the Year 4 team. Let's make this a fantastic year together!

Home Reading books
Whilst your child will read regularly in school, you can make a big difference by listening to your child read and asking them questions about what they have read for just ten minutes each night. Your child will bring home a reading bookmark. Please update this each time they read at home. Once your child completes the coloured bookmark, they move on to the next rainbow-coloured bookmark. Once a rainbow of bookmarks is completed, they will earn their bronze, silver or gold reading certificate.
Spellings/Phonics
Our weekly spellings are on Spelling Shed. At the beginning of the year, the children will bring home their individual login details.
