Y3 - Rowan

Hello, Rowan Class! We are thrilled to welcome you to a fantastic year of learning and adventure!  Year 3 marks the beginning of Key Stage 2, where our wonderful children will dive deeper into their studies and embrace independence.

This year, we have a variety of exciting themes lined up! Get ready to journey back in time as we explore the fascinating Stone Age and Iron Age, and uncover the legacy of the Romans in Britain. Did you know that there's a Roman road not too far from Asfordby Hill? Let’s discover together!

We will also embark on an exploration of a European country—Italy! Comparing it with our beautiful England will certainly enrich our understanding of the world around us.

This year, our incredible Year 3 pupils will be diving deep into their learning, unlocking the power of curiosity as they tackle exciting challenges and solve intriguing problems!

Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, our young explorers will be developing their deep-thinking skills and making meaningful connections across the curriculum. From maths puzzles to science explorations, they are truly engaging with the world around them!

Stay tuned for updates and progress throughout the year. Miss Lovegrove and the team can’t wait to embark on this incredible journey!

Let’s make it a memorable year full of fun, learning, and discovery!

Home Reading books

Whilst your child will read regularly in school, you can make a big difference by listening to your child read and asking them questions about what they have read for just ten minutes each night. Your child will bring home a reading bookmark. Please update this each time they read at home. Once your child completes the coloured bookmark, they move on to the next rainbow-coloured bookmark. Once a rainbow of bookmarks is completed, they will earn their bronze, silver or gold reading certificate.
