Eco-Committee
Asfordby Hill is very proud to have an Eco-Committee and be an Eco community. Our school is committed to developing strategies that sustain and enhance our school grounds and local area.
The Eco-Committee empowers pupils to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects such as the big litter pick, energy saving campaigns, recycling and increasing biodiversity to promote the importance of living sustainably and reducing our carbon footprint.
Our newly installed eco-garden enables pupils to learn outside of the classroom. The wild flower planters provides an essential habitat to support insects on which many birds depend on for food. The habitat attracts a variety of bees, butterflies, beetles, spiders and ants.
Our Eco School is committed to creating change for the benefit of future generations.
Our Eco- Garden
Our Eco-garden increases the biodiversity of the school's grounds. This garden was designed by our children on the Eco- Committee to support insects throughout the whole year. A huge thank you to East Midlands Airport for their grant and our school community for successfully completing the project.
The whole school campaign to reuse materials created our garden's green house and planters.
