Y6 - Oak

Hello and a warm welcome to all our Oak Class (Year 6) page!  As we embark on this exciting final academic year at Asfordby Hill we are thrilled to share with you our learning journey.

Our teachers and support staff include: Mrs Bailey (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday), Miss Parrott, Mrs Millward (Wednesday/Thursday/ Friday) and Mrs Close.

In Oak Class, we strongly believe in fostering a supportive environment where learning flourishes. This year, our dedicated team will guide our students through a captivating curriculum that includes enriching subjects like Maths, English, Science, and so much more!

We have planned a variety of engaging activities, inspiring projects, and even some surprises along the way to make this year memorable! Our aims are to not only enhance knowledge but also to cultivate skills that prepare our children for the next chapter in their educational journey.

Stay tuned to our website and social media for updates, photos, and more as we journey through Year 6 together! Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Home Reading books

Whilst your child will read regularly in school, you can make a big difference by listening to your child read and asking them questions about what they have read for just ten minutes each night. Your child will bring home a reading bookmark. Please update this each time they read at home. Once your child completes the coloured bookmark, they move on to the next rainbow-coloured bookmark. Once a rainbow of bookmarks is completed, they will earn their bronze, silver or gold reading certificate.

Spellings/Phonics

Our weekly spellings are on Spelling Shed. At the beginning of the year, the children will bring home their individual login details.
